What? Make a movie -- from inception to production, to edit, to finish -- in one 48-hour period. Who? You! This project is open to anyone who wants to help out. We imagine all sorts of tasks, skills, tools, and talent will be needed. More than we can guess. When? From 6pm May 24 (Friday) to 6pm May 26 (Sunday) Where? There will be numerous locations all over the Portland, as ideas flesh out. Maybe even yours! The Headquarters and starting point is Josh's garage (see notes elsewhere on this page). ** PUBLIC VIEWING ** At 9pm on Sunday, the "final product" will be shown for all interested at the Lazy Lady Lounge, located at 425 SE 3rd, #204. Try not to be late, even though project participants probably will be -- if they are not asleep!	Overview. We envision something like this happening: Meet at Headquarters (the garage of film-maker extraordinaire, Josh, located at 2222 SE 47th Ave, near Lincoln) at 6pm on Friday. Plan, write, argue, form, build, mold, think. Set out to shoot, including obvious (and not) auxiliary tasks such as set design, costume making, catering, acting, panicking, etc. Return to HQ (and/or other editing facilities) to do editing and post-production (sound creation, effects, sifting through piles of film), more forming/planning/wrestling. 6pm Sunday: be done! Oh yeah, and we do plan on this being an around-the-clock project; time is of the essence! Notes: We expect a lot of this to go on at the same time. We will have at least two cameras at our disposal, and hope to have a couple locations for editing, working on extra stuff, etc. At any given time, we will try to keep both the web site and HQ updated with cell phone numbers of film crews who are on location, or in different facilities working. How to help. The easiest way is to show up at the start, or contact someone along the way. Once things are under way, the web site will list at least one contact phone number to locate crews. Also, at HQ there will be, at minimum, a log of what is going on, even if things are quiet there. You can help with expertise or equipment (or both). The movie will be shot in digital video and edited on Macs with Final Cut Pro. All types and level of skills are welcome -- in everything from techie editing skills, to acting, to writing, to lifting, carrying, driving, sewing, cooking, etc. It is doubtful you would not be useful! Some ideas of things we need include: Hi8/Digital8 tapes, miniDV tapes, loan of cameras (you can stick with them as cameraperson), communication devices (cell phone, walkie talkie), Mac G4 for editing (can stay at your location, if people can come there to use it), external or spare 7200rpm IDE drives (20GB or bigger), likely a lot more!? These are just material needs. There is plenty of use for everyone, not the least of which is just people to brainstorm ideas, problem solve, and just have FUN. We filmed what we think will be an excellent climax scene for the film, with a gaggle of crazy aliens celebrating their first experience with television!
